Meet the people behind our partnerships

  • Marco Truffelli is a coaching psychologist, executive coach and business leader with over 30 years of experience in senior leadership, entrepreneurship and advisory roles, particularly within international luxury hospitality.

    Combining practical leadership experience with psychological science, Marco specialises in helping individuals develop self-awareness, confidence and psychological flexibility. His work explores how our thoughts, behaviours and beliefs influence the way we respond to challenges, make decisions and perform under pressure.

    He is currently undertaking doctoral research into burnout among senior hospitality leaders, exploring how psychological approaches can support wellbeing and sustainable performance.

    Through Courageous Minds, Marco brings his expertise in psychology and leadership to help individuals build the confidence, resilience and mindset needed to navigate challenges and reach their potential.

    Fun fact: During a horseback expedition in Argentina, Marco asked how long it would take to learn polo. When told it would take at least a year, he genuinely questioned whether he could master it in seven days. He still thinks the instructor was being a little pessimistic!

  • Niels brings extensive experience across luxury and boutique hotels, private members' clubs and entrepreneurial hospitality ventures. With a passion for challenging traditional thinking, he specialises in developing new concepts, building successful businesses and creating strong cultures from the outset.

    His career has included bringing Ian Schrager hotels to London, working alongside Ian in New York, and helping establish 67 Pall Mall with Grant Ashton, transforming an ambitious concept into a successful private members' club before expanding into Singapore.

    Niels particularly enjoys working with entrepreneurs, designers and development teams to bring new ideas to life. His expertise extends beyond traditional hospitality into the world of wine, business development and creating experiences that bring people together.

    Through The Leader's Journey, Niels brings an entrepreneurial perspective, commercial understanding and a belief in the importance of people, relationships and culture in building successful businesses.

    Fun fact: Away from hospitality, Niels is involved in a TV and film animation company, with its first television production reaching 140 countries in 30 languages. The company's first feature film reached cinemas this year, and Niels is also developing his own television series!
